Time passed since the arrest of Melemele Island’s own chief, and left the Alolan people concerned. The trial went as expected, a dull, impasse with each side at a stalemate. Alola’s law department was rather lacking, Nanu thought, but there was one thing that’s certain. Kahuna Hala was to face punishment... but convicting him was not-so simple. The symbol of Kahuna was bound by blood, and can only be removed through the death of the current head. An island without its leader would prove dangerous for the Alolan people. In order for Hala to repent for his sins, he must also retain his status as chief of Melemele Island.
And so, the courts made a compromise with Nanu and the International Police.

The thing follows Nanu in silence, occasionally beeping next to him as they approach the jail cells once again. He sighs, wondering what this little fella feels about taking away a person’s memories. But the thought eventually left his mind, opening the doors with a creak.
The two make their way down the stairs, taking a whiff of the smell of desperation and dread within the cells. They eventually stop in front of Hala’s cells, Nanu reminiscing about the bruises on his neck. Finally, the day has come.
